About the Role

The Business Analyst will serve as a critical partner to the leadership team, providing actionable insights and driving financial strategy for a multi-entity family office overseeing businesses in construction, healthcare software, AR factoring, and asset management. This role involves working closely with internal stakeholders and portfolio companies, offering expertise in financial planning, analysis, and operational support to drive value creation and strategic decision-making. This role will also play a pivotal role in delivering strategic and financial insights to senior leadership, focusing on storytelling through data and creating high-impact executive-level presentations.  

The ideal candidate will bring a strong analytical mindset, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to manage complex projects across diverse industries.They will excel in synthesizing complex data into clear, actionable narratives, preparing board-level presentations, and supporting strategic decisions that drive value creation across a diverse portfolio of entities.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Financial Planning

  • Develop and maintain robust financial models to support strategic planning, including valuation, scenario planning, and long-term forecasting.
  • Provide targeted financial analysis and insights on portfolio performance, identifying opportunities for growth, operational efficiencies, and value creation.
  • Support the development and execution of annual and multi-year plans, including forecasting, budgeting, and long-term financial modeling.
  • Collaborate with leadership to identify, evaluate, and execute on strategic investment opportunities.

Due Diligence & Corporate Development

  • Assist in due diligence efforts for mergers, acquisitions, and corporate development targets, providing detailed financial analysis and risk assessments.
  • Support integration planning and post-transaction analysis to ensure value realization.

Operational Excellence & Reporting

  • Prepare and deliver monthly and quarterly financial reports, including variance analysis and performance assessments, for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Partner with portfolio companies to align reporting practices and enhance visibility into financial performance, identify and implement cost-saving initiatives and operational improvements.
  • Design and implement best practices for financial reporting, budgeting, and analysis to improve efficiency and scalability. Enhance reporting capabilities by developing dashboards, visualizations, and performance metrics for leadership.

Support for Private Equity Investment Teams

  • Provide financial analysis and recommendations to private equity investment teams, focusing on value creation, strategic alignment, and risk management.
  • Facilitate the strategic investment process by providing data-driven insights and scenario analysis.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build trust-based relationships with internal teams, portfolio companies, and external advisors to deliver value-added insights.
  • Prepare and deliver high-impact verbal and written communications, including presentations for senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in finance-related topics, guiding internal decision-making and strategy.

Executive-Level Communication & Storytelling

  • Prepare high-quality executive presentations for Board meetings, lenders, and senior leadership, distilling complex financial information into compelling, strategic narratives.
  • Develop visualizations and dashboards that effectively communicate key financial insights and performance metrics.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA or CFA designation preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or private equity, with exposure to multi-entity environments, with exposure to executive-level communications.
  • Strong experience in financial modeling, market analysis, and investment evaluation.

Skills & Competencies

  • Exceptional ability to craft and deliver executive-level presentations, with a focus on data-driven storytelling.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial modeling and analysis, as well as presentation tools (e.g., PowerPoint, Tableau, Power BI).
  • Expertise in valuation methods, including DCF and multiple-based analyses.
  • Deep understanding of financial planning processes, variance analysis, and corporate finance principles.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
